Colin - racing is on both Sat and Sun. Sat is a point-to-point race between the track and Hyden (and back). Sun is several laps of a rather long circuit around Smithy's place. If you want specific details, go to the Calendar/Hyden450 link and read the sup regs; as they contain all the relevent times.

Also im looking at heading to Hyden this weekend to watch the hyden 450, but unfortunately i can only make it for either the sat or sun. i can't find anywhere that says if the actual racing is sat only or if there's racing on both days? (I assume both). sunday would be better but i dont want to hike all that way to find out i missed it. any info would be greatly appreciated. I'm guessing it's printed in big letters somewhere and i just can't see it. thanks Colin

We travel in a motorhome and have a tiny dog that is indoors most of the time especially where there are restrictions. We have attended other venues etc and certainly have had no problems as we are very safety aware and love our motor sports. We would like to attend the Hyden Easter event please. Awaiting your reply. Thank you.

Craig; to avoid duplication, classifieds are hosted on either OffroadOz (www.offroadinoz.com - mostly WA) or OffroadRacing (offroadracing.com.au - national).

For Mark Ashby, You have a long road ahead, lots of research, photo hunting, looking at designs on various buggies, sitting with pencil, paper and rubber!! mocking up some prototypes etc etc you get the picture. I have found that most teams don't readily give out their designs, years and years of tried and tested don't come cheap and also would you be willing to give away your secrets or advantage?????? give us a shout and I'll do my best.... nigeyakovlev8073@googlemail.com

I am interested in constructing a two seat off road racing buggy. I have a V6 Buick for a powerplant and either auto, man or sequential shift box. The back end is where I fall short of strong ideas. Is it possible to obtain blue prints of a tried and tested design. Your help would be very much appreciated. Mark.

Well that was interesting... Not only did someone cut a fibre trunk cable and drop out the connection to the server yesterday, but the power's been out for most of the day today and the server blew up when it came back on. Say hello to the new temporary (noisy) WDR server.

Ian, There is a shop serving cooked breakfast/lunch/dinner, as well as a licensed bar at the track. I doubt if ice will be available at the track, but you can probably pick some up in Hyden from one of the servos. There are also flushing toilets and a bunch of heated showers (availablity depending on water supplies). A nominal donation should be made at the gate to help cover the cost of these facilities; somewhere in the order of $10-20 would be appreciated.

Dave, you should have a read of the Hyden 450 supplementary regulations PDF (in the menu under Calendar/Hyden 450 - item you want is under 'Supplementary regulations' called 'Main'). Section 10 gives all the times that are known. Saturday: Section 1 start - 12:30pm Section 1 Hyden - all cars to Hyden by about 2:30pm Section 1 finish - all cars to Smithy's place by about 5:30pm Sunday: Section 2 start - 9am Section 2 finish - around 12pm Section 3 start - 2:30pm Section 3 finish - around 5:30pm

Mick, there are currently no plans to add a classifieds section. Whilst it may be useful, I don't want to duplicate services provided by other sites (in this case OffroadOz) if the demand isn't there. My gut feel (based on server activity) is that there's simply not enough offroad enthusiasts in WA to warrant having a specific classifieds listing for the club. This is also the reason why this site doesn't host its own forum.

Are there any plans to have a Classifieds section on the website?? I am sure that a few members would make use of it, to both hunt down those elusive bits and pieces and to move on, those superseded bits, that might be cluttering up the workshop. I, for one, have a pair of brand new, never installed, race seats that just will not fit in my little "Hirohita Howler"...... bright red with black trim...... Would also suit a road car for any of those, inclined.

My understanding is there will be a DVD, probably similarly priced to last year's, available sometime after the race, from probably the same sources (Dirt Comp, Racer Imports, Pitstop Bookshop or WORKS Automotive). I imagine there'll be a post in the News on this website when the DVD is released, so stay tuned...

Camping spots are allocated* on a first-come first-served basis. Luckily there's no real distinction between a 'good' spot and a bad one, so turning up later just means you're a bit further from the pits/noise. * where 'allocated' is where-ever you happen to park your car.
