A description of the Office Bearer Positions:
Executive Positions
PRESIDENT - Presides over the Club's affairs and attends the state panel meeting.
SECRETARY - Prepares Club’s correspondence and outgoing notices.
TREASURER - Manages the Club’s books, cash in, cash out.
LIASON OFFICER - “Vice President” – Interacts with members from other clubs and attends State Panel meetings.
RACE COORDINATOR - Assists with organizing aspects of racing, etc.
TECHNICAL COORDINATOR - Attends CAMS panel meetings. Assists with technical and race changes.
NON Executive positions
SOCIAL OFFICER – responsible for social activities including Christmas function
PROPERTY OFFICER – trophies and club property
WEBSITE COORDINATOR – and editor runs the website

Please consider where you can help the club and feel free to contact me anytime to discuss what is involved before the meeting so you know what you are getting into. This coming year is a time when the club needs you more than ever as the HYDEN 450 has gone from strength to strength on the back of mostly a few who are getting very worn out!!!!
If you cannot make it and wish to appoint a proxy they can be emailed to liason@westerndesertracers.com or handed in before the meeting for validation.

30th Sep 2010 - Hyden Humps Results
14 finishers out of 29 starters is not that good. Either the course was a bit rougher than the organisers advertised, or everyone's started building cars out of secondhand ally cans. Congrats to the winners, well done to the finishers, and commiserations to the losers (and better luck next year). Results are as follows: Overall, By Class, Section 1, Section 2, Section 3.

24th Mar 2010 - Hyden 450 Entry List
Posted a minor update to the entry list for Hyden (car 109 has been added). The new list is here. For those competitors picking up fuel from the race site - the fuel tank will be cleaned, have a new filter attached and be filled on the 1st April (this is no joking matter) with fresh BP Ultimate. Dieter's also looking for some additional people to man spectator and SOS points at various positions around the track. Having done this before, I've got to say it's a great way to see all the action and still help the club a bit. See the contacts page for Dieter's number.

19th Mar 2010 - Hyden 450 Final Entry List
Entries have closed for the upcoming Hyden 450. Just over 90 vehicles, with many of the fastest offroad cars in Australia, will be racing for outright positions in the ARB-Pinjarra Engineering sponsored event. 16th Mar 2010 - Hyden Work Party
All available assistance is required for a work party out at Hyden this weekend (20th-21st Mar 2010) to prepare the venue for the upcoming AORC event. Things'll start off early on Saturday morning and concentrate on the following:
- Signage
- Track marking
- Grandstand (an advance party will be moving one from Corrigin to Hyden on Friday arvo)
- General cleanup
12th Mar 2010 - General Meeting
A WDR General Meeting will be held on the 23rd March 2010 at the Hyde Park Hotel
Kardinya Tavern
(17 South St, Kardinya). Agenda will primarily revolve around the upcoming Hyden 450 and the
ORRINC acronym may be used once
or twice. Be there at 7pm and grab a meal, for a 7:30pm start.
11th Mar 2010 - How Filthy Can You Get?
French Bros Racing and Western Desert Racers are redefining the parameters of recruiting new members into
off road racing.
"We have found over the recent years, our female population at off road events
has been increasing and we thought, it’s time to get them out of the timing van, kitchen, bar, and crowd
and put them behind the wheel of a race car and see what they can do" said Ian French – WDR President.
Three weeks out of the WAORC Round 1, Tanya French took up the challenge and got out from behind her
corporate desk and jumped into an entry level class seven 4 x 4. Her first challenge as a marketeer
and promoter was to chase a major sponsor with a catchy racy name. Tanya has secured Filthy Clothing out
of New York, USA as a major sponsor in their effort to break into the Australian market. And so, FILTHY
RACING was born!

2nd Mar 2010 - Hyden 450 Sup. Regs.
Supplementary regulations (and a heap of other stuff) for the first round of the AORC comp. for 2010, the ARB - Pinjarra Engineering Hyden 450 2010, have been issued. This event also constitutes the second round of the WAORC competition for 2010.
19th Feb 2010 - WDR Presentation & Legends Dinner 2010
Due to a lack of numbers, the upcoming Legends Club Dinner has been relocated from the Indian Ocean Hotel to the Legends Bar at Smithy's Place (Hyden) and will now be run on Easter Friday.
18th Feb 2010 - Hyden 450 2010 Fuel Orders
All teams wanting to take advantage of the offer to have pre-allocated fuel (BP Ultimate 98) available on-site at Smithy's Place (Hyden) should grab a fuel order form (here) and send it to either or mail it in. Payment can be made by either cheque or EFT (see details here). Offer closes on the 26th March in order to guarantee supply.
8th Feb 2010 - Hyden 450 2010 ARB/Pinjarra Engineering Promo Video
Taster video for the 2010 Hyden 450 off-road event which is run on the Easter long weekend every year. Come and see over 100 Buggies, Trophy Trucks, Baja Bugs and Tin Tops tackle the now 85 - 100km laps.
